History of Flowerlane Montessori Children’s House
A year later (1980-81), 30 pupils aged 3-6 comprised a whole class. Positive feedback further encourage
everyone about the effectivity of this method of teaching for children, thus resulting with the first batch of 12 Prep students
successfully graduated from the school.
Enrollment gradually increased as learning technique begin to spread. The school also benefited
from the generosity of Dr. Cesar and Sonia Soriano, who donated some educational materials for the school.
In 1982, the school population grew exponentially which prompted the administration to move to
the current site in Del Pilar Street as well as giving the school its present name Flowerlane Montessori
Children’s House.
Today, the three storey, 12 classrooms fully air-conditioned building, is the home for Grades 1-2 levels with offices
at the ground floor. Another four storey, fully air-conditioned building is being used by the Pre-school Department (ground
floor) and the rest by the Grade School (3-6).
The administration and staff, and faculty members and its personnel work hand-in-hand in providing all its students with the best possible avenues for learning and self expression ,
giving credence to Maria Montessori’s Vision that “The new education does not consist in merely providing means
for the development of individual actions but also giving a child the freedom of disposing of these actions himself.”
Learning is a never-ending process and FMCH aims to be the “House” in which children
can acquire the foundation for knowledge and experience needed to build up the character
in pursuit of wisdom-all while giving thanks and praise to God who is the source of everything good.
